The Force Behind Immucel™ WGP

An all-natural supplement, Imucell™ WGP contains WGP beta glucan, a patented form of the complex carbohydrate beta 1,3 glucan, which is found in the cell walls of baker's yeast.

Scientists discovered the immune-boosting properties of beta glucan in the 1960s. Since then, they've documented its potential as an immunity-booster in numerous studies conducted at pre-eminent research institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and The Johns Hopkins University.

These studies have proven WGP beta glucan's ability to activate macrophages, a type of white blood cell that is the body's first line of defense.* Macrophages circulate throughout the body and engulf and digest non-self cells and trigger a cascading effect that mobilizes the body's arsenal of defenses. The result is a stronger immune system.*

How does Imucell™ WGP work?
A. The active ingredient in Imucell WGP is WGP beta glucan, a natural carbohydrate biopolymer that stimulates the human immune system as it passes through the body without being digested or absorbed. Activation occurs when WGP beta glucan comes in contact with the macrophage, a type of white blood cell present in specialized regions in the small intestine. The stimulated macrophages, the body's first line of defense, have an increased ability to identify and destroy foreigner intruders. After devouring invaders, the macrophages then communicate the intruder's presence to the body's other defenders.

Can I get the same health benefits from any beta glucan product?
A. Not all beta glucans are equal. Beta glucan is derived from several sources. The physical structures and biological activity varies with each glucan source. Imucell WGP is a scientifically proven immune system enhancer. We cannot speak to the efficacy, purity or source of other beta glucans.

What about other products that boost the human immune system?
A. Some immune system enhancers, such as mannoproteins and endotoxins, can over-stimulate the immune system, triggering an inflammatory response that is characterized by fever, chills and other side effects.
